M2 president Naoki Horii interested in bringing PC98 Touhou Games to a new platform

During the audio commentary for the cancelled Cho Touhou Live Stage 2020 broadcast (in which they rebroadcasted the Cho Touhou Live Stage 2019 instead), BeatMario and ZUN were participating as commentators.

At one point they have been talking about PC98 Touhou games and BeatMario suggested bringing them into a mini console. To which ZUN said that maybe Horii, the president of M2 (creators of PC Engine mini consoles) would be willing to do it.

Naoki Horii responded to the transcript and enthusiastically says

“I will say here now, I will do it”.

っていうか、いまここで言うよ、やるやる（読まれてるな）。
こんな大引き籠り時代だから、成立ちを過去から紐解く時間あるし、興味ある人いるよね…って思いますねー。

Whether this Project will come to reality, only time will tell, but its good to see that there is a interest to bringing back PC98 Touhou Games from both parties.
